Brian likes to cut paper to define his subjects. At first glance they seem to be part drawing, part sculpture, and part collage. At first, the abstract qualities of his work plays tricks on our eyes, but then the model's form is revealed. The dimensional qualities and craftsmanship really shine when the art is lit just the right way, creating subtle shadows that both define and disolve, and almost seem to vibrate. © Brian Crede
